The best viewpoints and photo spots in San Francisco
San Francisco is such a charming city, and it also has wonderful viewpoints in different parts of it. Here is the list of my top 5 viewpoints in San Francisco. They are also my favourites locations/photo spots for sessions with my clients. Enjoy the list!
Battery Spencer
Battery Spencer viewpoint located in Marin Headlands offers definitely the best views of the Golden Gate Bridge. The views from there are breathtaking and you can get the best light at sunrise. Highly recommend waking up early and get there just before sunrise, stunning views are guaranteed.
How to get there? Car/Uber or Bike is the best option. There is a free parking lot.
Golden Gate Overlook
Another best place to view the Golden Gate Bridge and its surroundings. Itβs easy to get there from the city, you can even take a bus. Sunset is my favourite time of day to take pictures there, the light looks magical! Golden Gate Overlook is located on the northside of the bridge, vnext to the historic batteries. The viewpoint offers a dramatic sight-line through the two bridge towers. I love this spot!
How to get there? You can either hike here, bike or come by car. There is a free parking lot.
Mori Point, Pacifica
Just a 30 minutes drive down the coast from the city of San Francisco separates us from dramatic, coastal views like these! Mori Point is my beloved ocean viewpoint in San Francisco. You can find there many hiking trails surrounded by wildflowers and green hills. This photo spot is perfect for golden hour and sunset. This place is located on the huge hill from there you can admire beautiful views of the coast, the city of Pacifica and some rocks.
How to get there? By car. There is a free, street parking. You can also take a bus to Pacifica and then hike from the city along the beach.
Lands End & Sutro Baths
Lands End is located at the northwestern corner of San Francisco. This spot and the hiking trail offer gorgeous views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Pacific Usually itβs so windy and chilly over there, so better take a jacket with you! Next to Lands End, there are Sutro Baths and a small beach. The best option is to go on a hike or just do a part of it, so you can view the best landscapes!
How to get there? By car, by bus (number 38) or the Lands End hiking trail from Golden Gate Bridge.
Bernal Heights
Bernal Heights park offers 360-degree panorama views of San Francisco. This park located on the hill but itβs easy to get there. On the top of it, you can find a swing that is really cute and photogenic! The best time to take pictures is during the golden hour and sunset. I might be windy and chilly there, better be prepared to wear some extra layers.
How to get here? By Uber or by bus (number 24). There is no parking spot, just a few spots on the street.
