The best places to see in Page, Arizona

Horseshoe Bend

Horseshoe Bend is the most popular place in Page, Arizona and definitely worth your visit. When I saw this place for the first time, I was totally blown away. There is something special about the Horseshoe Bend, it’s incredibly peaceful and calm, especially when you look at this crystal, turquoise water of Colorado River.

After we left our car at the parking lot and paid the entrance fee of $10, we headed to the trailhead. It’s a short hike from the parking to the bend, around 10 minutes one way. The best time to visit Horseshoe Bend is sunrise or sunset, we made it for sunset and captures these beautiful pictures. The views were amazing! Just look at these photographs.

What to eat in Page, Arizona

Fiesta Mexicana Restaurant

We found this place when searching a good Mexican restaurant in the Internet, but it was also recommended by our hotel. The vibe, decorations, food and drinks were absolutely amazing and delicious! This was the best Mexican food I’ve ever eaten in Arizona. You should definitely check Fiesta Mexicana Restaurant.

Welcome to Utah Sign

The day after we decided to rent a 4x4 Jeep Wrangler and head to Lake Powell to explore it’s canyons and hidden gems. On our way we stopped at Welcome to Utah Sign, which was located in between Big Water, Utah and Page, Arizona, on US 89. This spot is one of the best instagrammable places in the area, don’t miss it out. Every travel who is going to Utah should have a pictures with this sign!

Alstrom Point, Lake Powell

Alstrom Point - the most wonderful overlook over Lake Powel

I’ve been dreaming of visiting Lake Powell since quite a long time. Being a photographer, made me craving to photograph this place so much. Alstrom Point is usually shown on postcards from Utah, the most popular photos and it’s also showcase on the Utah Sign on US 89. Despite its popularity, it’s not so easy to get there. If you want to visit Alstrom Point, you have to prepare for one or two days off road adventure. In the next post I’ll describe our full-day adventure to Alstrom Point with all the details.

To visit Alstrom Point, you need at least one, whole day or two days, if you want to stay over night and watch the sunrise. We went there for sunset and it was magical! Before adventuring there in our 4x4 jeep (you definitely need it), we stopped at the Visitor’s Center in Big Water for some maps and information about how to get to Alstrom Point. I really recommend you doing this as well, so you won’t get lost on your way to Alstrom Point.

Antelope Canyon

Lower Antelope Canyon

Lower Antelope Canyon is an unforgettable adventure in Page, Arizona. It’s a orange canyon slot made with spiral rock arches. It’s a popular spot for photographers and tourists. I went to this place two times in my life and every time I was really impressed. Unfortunately, the Lower Antelope Canyon was closed due to the covid-19 at the time we were visiting Arizona, but I have some old photograps from this wonderful place. I hope it will reopen soon. You can read more information about this place here.

To visit Lower Antelope Canyon you need to book a slot canyon with one of the tour companies which belong to Navajo Tribe. Antelope Canyon can be visited only through a guided tour, you can’t access there by yourself. I highly recommend booking a tour online, beforehand, with one of those companies - Ken’s Tour Lower Antelope Canyon or Dixie Ellies Lower Angelope Canyon Tours so you can avoid the line. For the first time when I went to the Antelope Canyon, I had to wait for my tour for about 2-3 hours, since it was so busy. Please remember to book you tour online. The best time to visit is around 11-12, because the sunlight beams will be most gorgeous.
